The most recent and successful full-length album, released on the prestigious ARC Music label. A bright and dynamic fusion of traditional Buryat songs with art-rock, psychedelia, jazz, pop and folk elements. It received excellent international reviews, was nominated for the Songlines Music Awards (Asia & Pacific category) and was named “Top of the World” by Songlines magazine. Most notably, it reached #1 on the Transglobal World Music Chart in September 2021. Energetic, sunny and deeply soulful release dedicated to the land of ancestors.
A special collaborative live project commissioned by the Riddu Riđđu indigenous festival in Norway. Initiated and led by Norwegian trumpeter and composer Ole Jørn Myklebust, who wrote new music and arrangements. It unites Namgar Lhasaranova’s powerful Buryat vocals with Sámi singer Niillas Holmberg and Norwegian jazz/avant-garde musicians (guitar, electronics, bass, drums). The album features a unique fusion of steppe and Arctic indigenous traditions with modern Nordic jazz and atmospheric sound. Recorded live in 2013.
A more mature and atmospheric work where traditional Buryat-Mongolian motifs are blended with modern arrangements. Meditative tracks with ambient and world music elements create a strong feeling of steppe freedom, nomadism and connection to nature. The album shows the band’s evolution toward a deeper fusion sound.
Recorded in Germany with an international team of musicians. The album is a deep conceptual dive into ancient female images, foremothers and Buryat folklore ancestors. Producer Markus Reuter (known for his work in progressive and ambient music) arranged and produced all tracks, adding percussion, organ, synthesizers, treatments and electronics. The result is a mystical, experimental sound combining powerful traditional female vocals by Namgar with Nordic/ambient atmospheres.
The first official studio album (Hatar means “circular dance”). A carefully selected collection of classic Buryat and Mongolian folk songs performed in a traditional style with overtone singing. This release brought Buryat musical heritage to a wider audience in a modern yet respectful format and became an important milestone for the band.
